Ever thought about learning to sail? Or; does your child love the water and being outside? Sailing is a sport for all ages!

July 10 & 11; Two full days on the weekend of Adult Learn to Sail for beginning sailors or for those who want to improve their sailing skills. It includes two full days of instruction, in a mix of one and two person boats. All day (9:00 AM to 4:00 PM). Cost est. $250. Maximum enrollment; 6.

July 12-16; For youth various levels: in the morning, an introduction to sailing or refresher course for young kids (10 years and older) in stable Optimist and Zest dinghies. In the afternoon, for more advanced sailors: an intermediate course using a combination of competitive single and double-handed boats with an emphasis on skills development. The course is given in five half-day sessions, for a total of 15 hours of instruction. Mornings (9:00 AM to 12:00 NOON). Maximum enrollment in each of morning and afternoon: 12. Cost est.; $200

July 12-16; One-week women’s Learn to Sail program at Falcon Sailing Club . Instruction will be provided by an accredited instructor with easy-to-handle sailboats. Time of day to be decided. (Cost – $225)

July 18 -August 21: South Whiteshell Women’s Sailing League weekly training sessions. Continue developing your skills and get together for some fun once a week (day tbd) at Falcon Sailing Club for one session per week for 4 weeks (no session Aug 9-13). Sessions will be facilitated by experienced club sailors. Open to the Learn to Sail program participants as well as members of any yacht or sailing club under the Sail Manitoba jurisdiction. Maximum 10 participants

August 9 – 13, WOMEN’S (SWWSL) INTERMEDIATE SAILING / LEARN TO RACE – AFTERNOONS (1:00 PM to 4:00 PM) A one-week, half-day course for women to improve their sailing skills and learn to race. Taught on single and double-handed sailboats (Laser, Zest). For all girls / women aged 12+. Minimum CANSail 1 or demonstrated equivalent level of sailing skills required. All 2021 Learn to Sail participants in one of the above programs are eligible for a half price introductory family membership in the Falcon Sailing Club for the balance of the season. Members may use the Club facilities and sail boats. (Cost – $125 for the entire family)

Drop-in program at Falcon Sailing Club. For anyone who wants to further refine or develop their skills, arrange a 2-hour one-on-one session with an experienced sailor ‘mentor’ for $25 per session ($45 for first session for non- sailing club members, which includes a Sail Manitoba membership).
